Overview
Angelyn is a creative patent attorney who works with life science companies at all stages of the business cycle to develop strong, robust patent portfolios. She works with clients to develop layered patent strategies, including providing guidance on early-stage strategy, delivering freedom to operate and patentability analyses, performing due diligence reviews, and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications. Angelyn has a robust transactional practice as well, supporting clients during financings, public offerings, and strategic partnerships.
Angelyn brings several years of experience as a research scientist to her practice. She carried out her postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School, where she developed chemical tools to observe membrane protein transport. She received her Ph.D. from MIT, working to characterize various aspects of protein glycosylation through a combination of organic chemistry and biochemistry. Prior to graduate school, Angelyn was a research associate at Seattle Genetics, focused on developing antibody-drug conjugates for directed cancer therapy. She received a B.A. from Wellesley College, where she conducted undergraduate research on the synthesis of nucleoside analogs.
Angelyn is an author of a number of peer-reviewed scientific research articles published in Nature Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, and Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry. She enjoys mentoring young women in science and is active in the Boston area patent law community.
