August Image, a fashion photography agency that licenses photographs taken by (among others) Kenneth Willardt, accuses JV Beauty and its owner Jessica Polanco of republishing one of Willardt’s photographs on its website, www.lashrev.com, and on its social media without authorization. August Image asserts copyright infringement, and claims that the infringement was willful, although it offers no specific factual allegations as to the willfulness charge.
On the same day, LK Creative filed a nearly-identical suit against JV Beauty and Polanco, brought by the same attorneys, asserting copyright infringement in a photograph taken by Tamera Williams.
