Cambridge, MA – Lando & Anastasi client Roscid Technologies, Inc. successfully defeated Edgetech Instruments, Inc.’s allegations of trade secret misappropriation and a motion for preliminary injunction.Roscid manufactures and sells sophisticated analyzing equipment for the gas and humidity industries. In July 2014, Edgetech filed a Complaint in the Superior Court of Massachusetts seeking damages and a preliminary injunction relating to allegations of misappropriation of trade secrets. Within days, Lando & Anastasi’s litigation team assessed the complaint, filed briefs and declarations opposing the motion and argued the case before the Court. On October 6, 2014, Judge Rosalind H. Miller of the Middlesex District Court issued an order denying Edgetech’s motion for a preliminary injunction, finding that Edgetech failed to demonstrate a likelihood of success on the merits. Roscid had presented significant evidence explaining why the “chilled mirror” technology at issue in this case is generally known and available outside of Edgetech. A week after receiving Judge Miller’s order denying the requested injunction, Edgetech voluntarily dismissed its Complaint against Roscid, ending the litigation.
“We are excited to put this case behind us and return our focus to designing and building our unique brand of moisture analyzing equipment for our customers,” said Roscid president, Brad Murray. “Lando & Anastasi immediately understood our needs and worked closely with us to quickly and aggressively respond to Edgetech’s unfounded complaint and motion. We are thrilled with L&A’s litigation team. Their aggressive strategy, thoroughness, due diligence and commitment to quickly and efficiently resolving this case was invaluable to us.”
Roscid was represented by L&A attorneys Craig Smith and William Seymour.
