Lando & Anastasi, LLP (L&A) has been named in the 2016 edition of the IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners. This year, L&A is again recognized for their work in transactions, prosecution and litigation. The publication noted that “Lando & Anastasi certainly has some terrific lawyers. Scientific rigour and technical acumen always underpin its advice. Whatever the technology, it dispatches pre-litigation, litigation, clearance, strategy and transactions briefs with aplomb.”
In addition to the firm’s recognition, three L&A attorneys – Peter C. Lando, Louis Myers and Craig R. Smith were selected for inclusion. Peter Lando, one of the founding partners at the firm, is a well-known figure in the water industry and IAM notes that he is “a forward –thinking lawyer with an eye for commercial opportunities, who consistently secures watertight protection.”
Louis Myers, who leads the firm’s Life Sciences practice, is cited by IAM as “one of the senior statesmen on the biotech side. He has a blinding reputation.” Since joining the firm in 2007, Louis has led of team of life science professionals who represent public and private companies of all sizes and stages of development, with a heavy concentration in venture-funded start-ups.
Craig Smith, a member of the firm’s Litigation group, is a “hotly tipped advisor who has chalked up incredible wins for start-ups challenged by market titans.” In addition, Craig represents industry leaders including Foursquare Labs and Bose in intellectual property litigation throughout the country in federal district courts, appellate courts, and the International Trade Commission (ITC).
