Welcome Alexander Donovan, Ph.D., Emily Forster, Ph.D., and Samantha Gargaro, Ph.D.
Boston-based intellectual property boutique, Lando & Anastasi (L&A), is pleased to announce that Alexander J. Donovan, Ph.D., Emily R. Forster, Ph.D., and Samantha L. Gargaro, Ph.D. have joined the firm.

Their experience and scientific expertise bring a welcome expansion of capabilities and bandwidth to our life sciences group, and this will help us to meet the growing needs of our clients,” said Angelyn Larkin, Ph.D., a Partner in L&A’s life sciences group.
Alexander J. Donovan, Ph.D. joins the life sciences group as a Patent Agent, and holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His cross-disciplinary graduate research was directed to developing procoagulant nanotherapies that mimic platelet dense granules, an organelle central to hemostasis and the wound healing process. Prior to joining L&A, Alex worked as a Senior Researcher at a large, global materials manufacturer formulating setting-type joint compounds and textures. Alex was a double major at University of Chicago, where he received both a Bachelor of Science in Biological Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry.
Emily R. Forster, Ph.D. joins L&A’s life sciences group as a Technology Specialist, primarily focused on molecular biology. Emily earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology at Tufts University, where she used chemical proteomics to discover bile acid-binding proteins in the gastrointestinal pathogen Clostridioides difficile, and studied how protein:protein interactions control C. difficile spore germination in response to small molecules. Emily received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Samantha L. Gargaro, Ph.D. also joins the life sciences group as a Technology Specialist, and she specializes in the area of organic chemistry. Prior to joining L&A, Samantha earned her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University, where her research was focused on Cu-catalyzed asymmetric reductive coupling. She received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Washington State University.
