Lando & Anastasi, LLP (L&A) is proud to announce that David Roccio, a Partner in L&A’s Electronics and Computer Technology and Software groups, was recently appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to serve on the U.S. Department of Commerce District Export Council (DEC) in the Northeast Region for the 2022-2025 term.
Individuals appointed to a DEC become part of a select group of experts dedicated to providing international trade leadership and guidance to the local business community and assistance to the Department of Commerce on export development issues.
David is active in several international organizations, including both those that focus on domestic companies interested in expanding their business abroad, and those that support foreign companies in bringing their business to the United States. His activities include participation on a panel discussion, “Expanding Your Business Internationally: All the details you must know for a successful expansion,” and hosting a workshop at the 2021 SelectUSA Investment Summit, “How to Build an Intellectual Property Strategy for Entering the U.S. Market.” He also has partnered with the ChileMass Emprende program to host a workshop on developing intellectual property strategies and understanding requirements for filing in the U.S. and abroad.
About District Export Councils
In 1974, the Secretary of Commerce authorized and established the first District Export Councils to support the expansion of export opportunities for U.S. companies and serve as a communication link between the business community and U.S. Foreign and Commercial Service. Since then, DECs have promoted U.S. economic growth and helped to create and sustain new and higher-paying jobs in local communities, by supporting import/export opportunities.
