Partner David M. Roccio was selected, for the fourth year, to be a mentor in the Select Global Women in Tech (SGWIT) Mentorship Network. Mentors are chosen from a pool of U.S.-based entrepreneurs, corporate executives, venture capitalists, angel investors, and attorneys interested in supporting international female founders at all stages of the business lifecycle in their efforts to achieve their U.S. expansion goals.
“I am honored to participate as a mentor in the Select Global Women in Tech Program again this year,” Dave shares. “Over the past three years, I have had the privilege of mentoring women founders from across the globe, working in diverse technology sectors. Each of these women has been incredibly impressive and serves as an inspiring role model for other founders, as well as for women and girls aspiring to enter STEM fields or start their own companies.”
The SGWIT Program aims to promote American competitiveness and technology leadership and spur economic growth and innovation by providing unparalleled resources for talented women leaders in emerging technology sectors and supporting women’s economic empowerment globally.
Dave sees this mentorship network as a way to level the playing field for women to bring their innovative technology startups to the U.S. “Tech startups face numerous challenges, and women tech founders often encounter even more obstacles, including traditional barriers,” he adds. “The Select Global Women in Tech mentorship network, in conjunction with the SelectUSA Tech segment, provides a supportive environment where these founders can receive the targeted assistance they need to overcome these challenges and thrive. I look forward to another successful and inspiring year!”
Dave will also be attending the 2024 SelectUSA Investment Summit from June 23–26, where he will be connecting with international business owners planning for entry into the U.S. market and participating in the formal launch of this year’s SGWIT Program.
