Overview
Rob works with clients to protect their industrial designs. Rob focuses his practice on design law while also serving clients to prosecute utility patent applications, prosecute trademark applications, and provide counseling on a range of intellectual property-related issues. He works closely with engineers and industrial designers to identify protectible aspects of designs for consumer and luxury brand products, medical devices, and various technologies.
Prior to working as an IP attorney, Rob was a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), where he examined patent applications in the fields of metal working, metal deforming, presses, wire working, printed matter, and binding. Rob’s experience as a patent examiner makes him adept at searching for prior art and preparing patentability opinions.
Rob is an active participant in the design community, coordinating and moderating panel discussions for the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s Design Rights Boot Camp. He is also an active member of the Industrial Designers Society of America.
Rob has consistently been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in New England since 2017.
