Smruthi S. Rudraraju, Ph.D. | Lando & Anastasi, LLP

Overview

Smruthi is a Technology Specialist in the Life Sciences group, primarily focused on molecular biology. She assists in drafting and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications, performs freedom to operate and patentability analyses, and conducts due diligence reviews.

Prior to joining L&A, Smruthi worked as a Technology Specialist at a law firm in Boston, where she assisted clients in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications. Smruthi received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of North Dakota where her doctoral research focused on characterizing the RNA binding ability of the transcription factor SNAIL through the use of biochemistry techniques and next-generation sequencing and studying its functional relevance during epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition.

Smruthi received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from James Madison University where she worked as a research volunteer at the Cooper Lab investigating the mode of sexual selection in Calopteryx maculate (Jewel-wing damselflies).

Throughout her academic career, Smruthi was awarded several grants and accolades for presentations including the NIH CoBRE Pilot Genomics Award.
